Cougars Keep The Win Train Rolling
The last time the Cougars and Wolves played was on October 6th. In that game the Cougars were red hot and on a 19 game winning streak in the regular season, over the last two seasons. Including 9 games in a row to start this year.
This time the Cougars were clearly the better team. Watson got the scoring started at the 8:10 mark on a 2 on 1. Beavan was fresh out of the box and he raced to the bench to get Espo on the ice. Espo fed Watson and the Cougars were on the board.
The Wolves would tie the game a few minutes later on a Copeland shot from the point. The Cougars would regain the lead after a whiff at the blue line in the Cougars zone saw Pang take the puck all the way down a roof the puck for the 2-1 lead, and ultimately the game winning goal. Franklin would get his first of two on the night after being left out front and having Estey drop a sweet drop pass into the blue paint. He would get another goal, this time short handed in the 3rd period. Franklin would steal the puck on the forecheck and bury the shorty. Ben Brant would drive the nail into the coffin with about 3 minutes to go on the power play.
The Cougars are back at it tomorrow night, 7pm at the Arch when Saanich comes to visit.
