The Islanders are the only team to drop the Cougars twice this season. And for the 1st period it looked like they could make a run for a third win against the South leading Cougars.
It was an evenly matched period. Shots were dead even, both teams played the body well, and both had chances. Colten Thompson was the lone player to find the back of the net. A 2on1 where Thompson held the puck and fired a laser under the Blocker of Chambers.
Thompson did it again early in the 2nd on a point shot that found a way to sneak 5-hole and the Islanders were up 2-0 and rolling. Dylan Franklin shifted the momentum 3 minutes later and the ice stayed slanted for the rest of the game. Another goal from Franklin 10 minutes later had the game tied. Estey and Bouveur added their own markers and the Cougars were up 4-2 after 2.
Pivetta, Brant and Roworth kept the goals coming in the final frame and the Cougars thumped the Islanders 7-2. Check the highlights below!
