Logan Spiers Came To Play, Cougars Didn’t.

After coming off a great game against the Islanders on Thursday, the Cougars faced the #2 Panthers on Sunday.

Right from the opening faceoff the Cougars looked a little flat. The Panthers clearly showed up to play an important game. With the shift to Win% as the determining factor the Panthers need to play the top hockey they can to overtake Victoria for the top seed in the South.

Logan Spiers is on an epic point streak of 45 games. His last 0 point game was against the Cougars back on October 30th….2020. Yes, 2020.

He didn’t disappoint his fans last night. He grabbed his first career VIJHL 4 goal game, and only his second hattrick.

The entirety of the Panthers team played solid hockey, but their opponents didn’t. Flat, lifeless hockey led to a solid thumping. The Cougars have a few days off before they take on the Predators on Thursday. If they keep playing like they did on Sunday, the playoff picture will change…
