A Winning Tradition Of Excellence

Cougars Clinch 1st In The South

Aiden Turner had 1 goal and 1 assist to help solidify the Cougars top spot in the South. The math was always in the Cougars favour, but it’s now a certainty.  It was the Predators annual “Pink in the Rink” game. With the Preds wearing hot pink jerseys to raise funds and awareness about Castleman’s Disease.

The game against Saanich Friday night was a penalty filled affair.  This game had everything from fights to checking from behind, 5 ejections, plenty of 10’s and a very disjointed pace. The Cougars came out on top, but the flow of the game was hard to watch. Lots of penalties and stoppages jammed up any decent chance of a fun game to watch.

WIth only 2 games remaining in the regular season it is a terrible time to be getting caught up in on-ice shenanigans that could lead to a suspension. At the time of writing this the league hasn’t sent out suspension notices but I expect to see some.

The Cougars take on Saanich again on Thursday at home, then round out the regular season in Comox on Saturday (one week from tonight).
