ACQUIRED: Jake Watson

The Victoria Cougars are pleased to announce the signing of Jake Watson.

Watson, the 6’0” 175lbs forward, born in Ashington, England is exactly the type of player the Cougars were looking for. Recently back from the Melville Millionaires, Watson chose to sign with the Cougars over many other programs.

“Jake is a great addition for us,” said GM Suneil Karod. “I’ve been very focused on building a strong defensive core, but we did recognize that we need some experience upfront as well. Jake is an intelligent hockey player who understands both sides of the game.”

Watson spent last season at the Rink Hockey Academy where he had 8 points in 7 games. He started the 2021-2022 season with the Melville Millionaires of the SJHL.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to play for the Victoria cougars and meeting my teammates and the Victoria community,” said Watson. “The Cougars have an long history of success and I’m hoping to play a part in continuing that tradition.”

Watson will add strength to the already potent Cougars offence.

“I consider myself a good two way player who contributes in the offence and defensive zones, continued Watson.
