The Victoria Cougars are pleased to announce the signing of local defenceman Chase Barlow. The 6’1” 181lbs local product spent last season in the BCHL pod season with the Nanaimo Clippers.
Chase comes to the Cougars with Junior A experience and will be a leadership presence.
“We have a younger group of players this year,” said Cougars GM Suneil Karod. “We have a lot of 03s, so to add someone with the experience that Chase has goes a long way. He’s played in the BCHL. Chase will be able to help our younger guys mature quicker and be a great role model for them, not only that, he’s going to be a threat on the ice.”
Barlow spent time at PCHA before joining the South Island Royals. Chase made the jump to Junior A and spent time with the Victoria Grizzlies, Grand Prairie and the Nanaimo clippers. The Cougars welcome home Chase.
“I’ve been watching chase play for a long time now. He’s capable of shutting down the best players in the league, and he’ll be able to contribute offensively.”
