Cougars Affiliates Shine at the Greater Victoria Midget Hockey Classic

The Saanich Midget Tier 1 Braves ended the Remembrance Day long weekend with a shootout Victoria against the Chilliwack Midget team. This tournament saw many of the Victoria Cougars affiliates leading the way. The Cougars had seven affiliate players in the tournament. From the JDF Grizzlies Mathew Johnson led the way with 6 points in 5 game, Connor McClelland 3 points in 5 games and Reid Fitzpatrick with 2 points in 5 games.

The big story was the Midget Braves winning the tournament in a shootout. Cougars affiliates were not shy about their contribution to the tournament win.

Newest Cougars Dylan Jessa had 4 points in 5 games, Connor Turnbull with 2 points, but it was Jacob Pang leading the way with 5 points, 1 game winning goal and 2 shootout winners and Tournament MVP Jacob Haydar with a stellar 1.67 GAA.

The Cougars are proud of their affiliates and want to congratulate them on the tournament win.

“I’m proud of our AP’s,” said Cougars Head Coach Suneil Karod. “These guys work hard when they’re up with us and I know they work hard with their clubs and it’s great to see it payoff for the Braves to win, but all our affiliates have a successful tournament.”
