Three wins in four nights at home.

The Cougars are one point back with a game in hand for second in the VIJHL. With a thrilling 1-0 win over the Generals yesterday afternoon the Cougars are clawing their way to the top of the standings. Only one win behind the top Saanich Braves. 48 shots many of which were legitimate scoring chances had the Cougars only able to score once. Jacob Sweet, arguably the best player on the ice, had an amazing 1.00 GAA and 47 save performance for Oceanside on Sunday. He still had to take the loss. Victoria was all over the Gens for almost the entire 60 minutes of the game, but because of the unreal play from Sweet the game ended 1-0 instead of the 6-0 or 7-0 it could have been.

Mateo Albinati scored the lone goal to put him even further up the leader board in the league scoring race with 26 points. Marshall Brown is now in sole possession of second at 20 points. Owen Sikkes in only his second game with the Cougars recorded a shutout and his second win. Also with a fantastic performance making several clutch saves to keep the score 1-0 late in the contest when the Generals showed life late.

The Cougars finish their four game home stand on Thursday vs the Panthers. 7pm puck drop.
