Redemption Time

The Cougars have a chance to redeem themselves starting tonight against the Panthers. A home and home against the Panthers will give the Cougars a chance to show that the game against the Storm on Sunday was a blip in the season. Losing two games straight against two of the better teams in the league has put them in an early hole in the South standings.

The Panthers are also looking to get out of an early slump. Winless in their first 4 games puts them in the basement of the South Standings, and only 1 point up on the other winless team the Glacier Kings by virtue of a OT loss.

The Cougars do have something to be proud of early. The Power Play has been solid in 4 games. 10 for 18 at 55% is best in the league, and with the Panthers PK sitting just above 80% the Cougars may have a chance to take advantage of the PP if the Panthers get into penalty trouble.

It will be interesting to see how the Cougars rebound after a lacklustre performance in the game last weekend.

Game 1 of the home and home is tonight at the Archie Browning Arena, 7pm. Game 2 is tomorrow at Panaroma Rec, 730pm.
