The Victoria Cougars are pleased to announce that Kyle Wade has committed to play hockey at the University of Arizona for the upcoming 2018-19 season.
“I want to thank the entire Cougars organization for everything over the past two seasons,” Wade said. “From the executive to the volunteers, it has been a great experience for me as a hockey player and a person. Suneil [Karod], Brody [Coulter], and Jake [Stolz] pushed me to grow my game and helped me achieve my goal of playing college hockey.”
During his playing days in Victoria, Wade racked up 25 goals and 37 assists for 62 points in 77 games.
“I am very proud of Kyle. He has worked hard in the past two seasons to earn this opportunity. Kyle was a good leader for us on and off the ice and I know he will be successful in Arizona. He played a large role in our success and we wish him the best of luck and I know they will like him and his style of game down there,” Cougars head coach Suneil Karod said.
In addition, Wade wanted to especially thank Tony Carlson and Tina Doehnel for everything they did on a day to day basis making sure the players had the best experience possible.
Wade joins former teammate Anthony Ciurro in the Grand Canyon State.
Based in Tucson, Arizona, the University of Arizona is located 2,742 kilometres south of Victoria.
